Colour Youth – Athens LGBTQ Youth Community is a an NGO that provides support and defends the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and queer (LGBTQ) young people in Athens, Greece. We formed our group in 2011, to create a space for LGBTQ youth to express themselves better and claim their rights! We envision a world where homophobia, biphobia, transfobia are eliminated. A society where there is no discrimination based on sexuality, gender and body. We grasp colorful markers and paint a colorful reality. Our mission is to expose the problems that concern LGBTQ youth of Athens and place ourselves bravely in the social and political camva that surrounds us. Colour Youth aims to raise social awareness regarding LGBTQ community claims, apply institutional pressure for the modernisation of legal frame regarding gender identity and sexual orientation and to create a powerful youth community, functioning as a shelter for every LGBTQ person. Towards meeting our goal, we offer, among others, the following services: • Weekly open meetings • Registration of violence and discrimination incidents based on sexual orientation or/and gender identity/expression • Legal support of violence victims • Psycho-social support of violence victims • Personal Sessions with a psychologist • Psychodrama group • Experiential Talk Group with supervising Psychologist • Experiential Talk Support Group for LGBTQ Women
