Overview

CASB's mission is to advance excellence in public education through effective leadership by locally elected school boards. Our people are the resource that suppports, connects and advocates for Colorado's local school boards and the students they serve! The Colorado Association of School Boards was established in 1940 to provide the structure through which school board members could unite in efforts to promote the interests and welfare of Colorado school districts. Today, CASB advocates the interests of local boards of education to groups both within and outside the education community. CASB provides resources, services and training programs in order to support school board members as they govern their local school districts. The majority of Colorado's 178 school districts are CASB members, representing about 1160 school board members and superintendents statewide. A 22-member board of directors, comprised of local school board members across, the state governs the association.
