The Colony of Avalon Foundation Inc. is a not-for-profit, charitable organization with a mandate to investigate, interpret, preserve and develop the archaeological remains of Lord Baltimore's Colony of Avalon in Ferryland, NL The Colony of Avalon Foundation supports archaeological excavation and research, as well as a facility that includes a fully equipped Conservation Laboratory, a Collection Storage Area, Interpretation Center with guided outside tours, a reproduction of a Seventeenth-Century Kitchen and three Heritage Gardens. The Colony of Avalon Foundation also operates the Colony of Avalon, Window on the Past gift shop that is located within a few hundred meters of the archaeological site.
