Overview

The College Consulting Collaborative specializes in individualized college preparation, planning and placement for students with learning disabilities, students on the autism spectrum, and those with ADHD and executive dysfunction. We work with our students to find colleges where they can be challenged, supported, and will thrive, so that their learning differences will not be a barrier to their success in college and beyond. We have a national presence, with offices in the DC Metro area, Charleston, S.C., the Greater Boston Area, and San Francisco Bay Area. Our focus is not only to provide students with a college list, but also to help them develop their academic and college-readiness skills. We use the college selection and application process to promote our students' self-awareness, self-advocacy skills, and independence. We help our students build their executive function and writing skills by introducing strategies and technology as we guide them in the development of their college essays and college applications. By building on our students' strengths and focusing on their capabilities and talents, we help them reach their considerable potential. We spend a significant portion of our time learning about colleges and universities throughout the country. We take a deep dive into all aspects of each college’s offerings, by conducting extensive research, interviewing students, admissions and accessibility staff, and visiting campuses across the nation. We are also experienced in helping families explore other paths to success when additional support is needed or a traditional four-year college isn’t the right fit. We strive to support the individual needs of our students to best set them up for post-secondary success. We love what we do!
