Overview

At CoKreates Limited, while architecting the first-ever microservices-based ERP for the biggest enterprise in Bangladesh - the Government of People's Republic of Bangladesh; we felt the need of a powerful workflow system to simplify the management of in-organization processes providing public services. This should also empower organizations with control over random to rapid changes they require. For decades, the Government has tried several attempts of adopting technology to come out of its shell and provide services faster to seekers. All such attempts, even to the best case context, achieved success lower than expectations for inefficient performance. Most of all attempts appeared to have lacked the progressive vision the client shares. CoKreates Limited, a consortium of renowned entities, feeling the dire need of the client, came into an understanding to initiate a colaborative approach by involving their skills, experiences and resources. The main focus of the collaboration is to build systems for the client in order to empower it and allow control on its space. The client invited consultants from BUET, the top engineering university in the country, to help the consortium in analysis and standardize the requirements into a common progressive framework. CoKreates Limited is currently documenting specifications of the requirements of the system, named Government Resource Planning (GRP). Initial scope of the development is for 9 offices under 2 ministries - Planning Division and ICT Division. The scope defines 9 modules - HRM, Meeting and Events management, Budgeting, Project Management, Procurement, Inventory, Assets, Accounting, and Audit modules. After successful rollout of the first phase, a second phase rollout will cover up around 20K offices across the nation. GRP, as identified, is planned to be built on microservices architecture adopting state-of-the-art technologies, security policies and automation techniques.
