Overview

Through education, research and the dissemination of knowledge, we guide and support changes in various national and international spaces; promoting and supporting collaboration between academia, the various government sectors, and our non-governmental partners, seeking to understand the phenomena and provide solutions that enrich and guide the national, regional, and global future. For this reason, the University of San Martín de Porres, with a global vision, considers the need to expand its current research centers and considers the creation of the Virology Research Center (CIV) to be an urgent need, with the capacity to carry out carry out research and teaching projects that contribute to the public health of the country. The CIV was born with the mission of conducting research on emerging and re-emerging diseases, such as: Covid-19, Influenza, Dengue, Zika, Chikungunya, among others, as well as other national diseases and their impact on global public health identified. as the main health problems in the country. The main arm is the research carried out at the Center, which is based on basic biomedical research, clinical studies, Public Health studies and field studies of new preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, enriched by the experience of our researchers and the incorporation of new techniques and technologies.
