Overview
The Montréal West Island Integrated University Health and Social Services Centre (IUHSSC) serves a population of 370 000 people. Over 10 500 employees, 880 doctors, 72 researchers, and 1500 volunteers work for the organization. The organization has a budget of $905M. The Montréal West Island IUHSSC was created through the merger of the former West Island Health and Social Services Centre, Dorval-Lachine-LaSalle Health and Social Services Centre, St. Mary’s Hospital Center, the Douglas Mental Health University Institute, the West Island Rehabilitation Centre, the Grace Dart Extended Care Centre, Batshaw Youth and Family Centres, and Ste. Anne’s Hospital. Of these, two institutions are university-affiliated and are home to research centres. Its 184 km2 territory covers the municipalities of Baie-D’Urfé, Beaconsfield, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Dorval, Kirkland, Pointe Claire, Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, and Senneville, as well as the boroughs of Lachine, LaSalle, l’Île-Bizard-Sainte-Geneviève, and Pierrefonds-Roxboro. The organization values commitment to its clienteles, collaboration, transparency, courage, respect, and innovation. As a designated bilingual institution, the Montréal West Island IUHSSC offers services in both French and English.
