Helena, Montana, was founded in 1864 and is Montana’s Capital City, located between Yellowstone National Park and Glacier National Park. Helena has a rich gold rush history, and exploring Last Chance Gulch brings the history to life. Designated a ride center by the International Mountain Biking Association, Helena has over 75 miles of trails that originate in the Downtown area, offering visitors a world-class mountain biking or hiking experience. Rand McNally and Geocaching.com awarded Helena the Best of the Road “Best for Geocaching” title. The city is surrounded by mountains and even boasts one of the largest natural city parks in the country, Mount Helena City Park, the trailhead is a short walk from the downtown area.
