Overview

Christian International, Ltd. was an oilfield service company that specialized in well servicing, workovers, and completion services in Libya's Sahara Desert. The company was formed by Ray E. Christian in 1968 to provide well services in Libya to the Oasis Group; a consortium of companies consisting of Marathon, Amerada Hess, ConocoPhillips, and the Libyan National Oil Company (NOC). Later, Christian provided rigs to AGOCO, Zeuitina Oil Company, Harouge Oil Operations, Waha Oil Company, and Sirte Oil Company in addition to numerous IOC's. Christian provided oilfield services and technical service consultants to the National Oil Company in Libya until the Arab Spring resulted in the February 17 Revolution. After more than 43 years of continuous operations in Libya, the company closed in March of 2011 due to civil unrest. The Christian family sold the assets of the company and is not affiliated in any way with companies in Libya operating under the 'Christian" trade name and/or trademark.
