Overview

Every child deserves a good education, access to health care, and a future of opportunity and promise, but so many children in Tanzania are living in extreme poverty, and many have lost one or both their parents to preventable illness. We want children wherever they are to get the most out of life, and to feel happy, healthy and safe, but orphaned and vulnerable children need extra support to help them overcome life’s challenges if they are to fulfil their potential. Children of Songea is an independent Scottish charity that helps to improve the lives of children affected by poverty in Tanzania. We are a small charity making a big difference in a part of the world where health, a good diet and even a basic education are denied to many children. We believe that being a volunteer-led charity is one of our greatest strengths. All our energies and resources are directed towards supporting our partner organisation to provide essential support to orphaned and vulnerable children.
