Century Cranes is the largest crane hire business in the Cairns region. Locally owned and operated, Century Cranes has a modern fleet of 15 cranes of varying sizes from 13 tonne City Class to 200 tonne All Terrain. Century Cranes also has a team of expert crane operators with many years of experience providing heavy lift services on highly diverse and often complex jobs, so it is able to assist clients with: constructing precast panel structures placing boats in dry dock lifting heavy machinery and mining equipment installing bridge structures erecting single storey to multi-storey buildings Century Cranes is on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week to provide vehicle, train and machinery retrieval in the advent of accidents. By drawing on its decades of heavy lifting experience, Century Cranes is able to liaise with clients to custom-design lifting solutions that will provide the most appropriate, cost effective crane services to suit individual projects. In 2016, Century Cranes established Century Training to provide expert training solutions for those seeking a career in crane operation. Trainees not only have access to expert trainers, operators and assessors with extensive experience operating cranes in the real world, they also have the benefit of receiving their training in purpose-built facilities which include simulators and multipurpose training rooms. Operating cranes takes specialist skills and the capacity to assess situations and design heavy lifting solutions which fulfil project goals, are cost effective and maintain the safety of all operators and site personnel. This takes specialist training and the best people to provide such training, are those who have years of experience developing and implementing heavy lifting solutions to complete tasks from the everyday, such as placing roof trusses, to resolving even the most challenging of tasks including retrieving crashed vehicles and up-righting derailed train carriages.
