Overview

The Center for Adaptive Stress (CAS) is a pioneering research and advocacy organization dedicated to advancing our understanding of the complex interplay between stress, adaptation, and neurodiversity. Through multidisciplinary collaborations and research projects, we aim to explore the diverse ways individuals respond to stress and adapt to their environments. By integrating insights from diverse fields we strive to develop a comprehensive understanding of the underlying mechanisms that shape human behavior, cognition, and mental health. At CAS, we are deeply committed to promoting a neurodiversity-informed perspective that recognizes and values the unique strengths and abilities of individuals with diverse cognitive styles. Through our research, we aim to challenge traditional deficit-based approaches and contribute to a more inclusive understanding of neurotypes such as those medically known as autism and ADHD. By exploring the dynamic relationship between stress and adaptation, we seek to uncover new therapeutic strategies and system-wide changes that support the well-being and resilience of individuals across the neurodiversity spectrums. CAS is dedicated to raising public awareness and fostering dialogue around neurodiversity and the importance of adaptive stress management. We strive to empower individuals, families, educators, and healthcare professionals with the knowledge and tools needed to navigate the challenges and opportunities associated with neurodiverse and divergent experiences. As we look to the future, the Center for Adaptive Stress remains committed to advancing scientific knowledge, promoting inclusivity, and championing the neurodiversity movement. We believe that by embracing a holistic and adaptive perspective on stress and neurodiversity, we can contribute to a more compassionate worldview.
