For the last two decades, electrical neurostimulation has been an established therapy widely used as a last resort for patients with various neurological and psychiatric illnesses. Typically in cases where pharmacological options have been exhausted and where neurostimulation offers a more reversible option compared for example to surgical lesioning of the brain.
