Overview
The Clinic started its activities in 2008 and became more formalised in 2010. It recruits students every semester, all year long, who have a background in law or in international studies and who are enrolled in bachelors, masters or doctorate programs. The Clinic then selects the candidates and matches them to a professional partner based on their interests, their training and language skills. Professionals are free to give students any mandate they wish within the general mandate of the Clinic. The Clinic’s leitmotiv is to adapt its activities to the specific needs of its partners, and students execute the mandate according to the practitioner’s indications and under the supervision of the Clinic’s supervision, at Université Laval. Since its creation, the Clinic has trained over 400 students and has partnered with more than 30 partners in international institutions, NGOs and lawyers working on strategic litigation.
