Overview

The CCD STUDIO WORKGROUP, through their professional research activities, focus on various spatial languages through which they aspire to create and realize contemporary architectural spaces. The three individuals that organize and coordinate the network of collaborators and consultants, was established as a working group project in 2004, following their studies in Building and Architectural Engineering at the University of Aquila. The common aim was to develop design methods in architecture, to provide solutions in specific subject areas of spatial form. The team were particularly interested in structures in the social sector, in particular they specialize in personal care, from early childhood to seniority. Their projects in this area have, therefore, led to confirmation and development of the theoretical-conceptual approaches and methodologies developed during their academic research. All the projects have a strong component of economic, social and cultural analysis of factors affecting the area in order to find solutions in respect to local context. This is achieved through the CCD Studio Workgroup approach, which combines knowledge of Engineering and Architecture. These specific qualities of the CCD Studio were and are appreciated even outside their local area, with international publications about their projects for schools and kindergartens. The team have also had the opportunity of work experience outside Italy, such as projects undertaken in Russia and Switzerland. Special skills of CCDStudio workgroup reside in the ability to use all current technology instruments (cad cam, bim model, gis, ecc..) for the understanding the context in his cultural and economical aspects. We have three points around turn our design works: design, comunication, construction. This three points can resume the principles of our skills. We believe that in architectural field you have a good idea, so you have to know how to communicate, then you have to know how to build it.
