Overview

We are in the process of setting up an accessible creative-arts therapy service in Devon, which focuses on interventions that ensure long term improvements in mental health and well-being, to create sustainable social benefits. We are driven by a passion to make a difference in society, which we believe we can achieve through therapeutic interventions that holistically address the root causes of mental health difficulties, including preventative and systemic work. Offering a range of creative therapies including art, drama, environmental art and play therapy, we work with individuals, including children & young people, & the systems around them, including, families, schools, & communities to alleviate difficulties including: - anxiety - depression - self-harm - behavioural difficulties - attention deficit and hyperactivity - low self-esteem - alcohol and substance misuse - eating disorders We also provide therapy services for those who have experienced trauma or adverse childhood experiences. Our service focuses on timely and sustained interventions, a preventative approach, if possible, and after care where needed. We work systemically, aiming to strengthen relationships & connections, to improve mental health and well-being. We strive to address social, cultural and financial barriers that discriminate and can prevent people from accessing the mental health support they need, which includes making our services affordable. We are also passionate about the therapeutic capacity of nature. Most of us have woven nature and the outdoors into our work and some of us are qualified in environmental arts therapy. We would like to help build positive relationships with the environment for the benefit of people's mental health as well as the future of the planet. With this in mind, we also consider the planet’s finite resources when organising our services and sourcing materials for our work.
