We equip coffee professionals to make money and love their lives. Catalyst is Emily McIntyre and Michael McIntyre, along with their colleagues Zelalem Girma Bayou and Lance Nichols. Based in Portland, Oregon, Catalyst offers training, analysis, and solutions at nearly every strata of the industry. Here are a few ways we've revolutionized the coffee world since 2015: ✅In late 2019, we are launching the world's first-ever coffee marketing course, for DIY coffee businesses. ✅We have trained two Good Food Award-winning roasters and other roasting apprentices run highly successful coffee companies in the United States. We also roasted the coffee for a GFA-winning client. ✅A case study we produced in 2016 directly resulted in new Ethiopian legislation for increased transparency between coffee producers and buyers. ✅An article we wrote on the Gedeo Zone conflicts in 2017 directly resulted in the Ethiopian government investing $8 million to rebuild the area ✅Coffees for which we oversaw processing and sourcing have won many awards and been featured in competitions in the United States, Czech Republic, and more. ✅We have produced reports that allow coffee export companies to minimize their risk through increased process controls, better systems, and training of staff ✅Our clients range from small roasting companies looking to improve their coffee and marketing to independent importing companies and producers in Ethiopia, Nicaragua, Cameroon, Peru, Colombia, and more, to the Alliance for Coffee Excellence and others.
