As with our lives, our design focus has turned increasingly toward an examination of the impact we have on our planet. With every new project we explore new ways to reduce the depletion of our natural resources and re-examine old ways to connect with our surroundings; sometimes that involves just letting a thing be what it is. For us, good design means doing more with less, and finding honest and authentic ways of using materials. Eco-Friendly Construction Whenever possible, we like to build our own designs. It's more fun that way. We've also found that it's more efficient, which means we can realize savings for our clients. Perhaps best of all, we've found we can better accommodate the changes that always seem to happen during the construction process. Sustainable Urban Development In 2005, we developed and built our first two new homes for sale. Executed with environmental sustainability in mind, this project opened the door for the development of three additional houses which were completed in 2007. Another of our energy efficient homes was completed and sold last August. We currently have two more houses in construction phase, to be completed late this Spring. Both are now available for pre-sale. South Winthrop Street Center, a transit-oriented mixed-use building will be located adjacent to the new Light Rail Station when it opens in late 2009.
