Carter G. Cares was created when Marcellas and Ashely Preston’s son Carter Godwin Preston was born, weighing 1lb 4oz and had to fight for his life in the NICU for over 226 days. After many battles with pneumonia, multiple blood transfusions, fighting chronic lung disease, Carter is now at home flourishing! Thanks to the support they received from nurses, hospital staff and friends and families they were able to overcome a difficult time. With Carter G. Cares they hope to do the same for other families. CGC's goal is to assist other families that are going through similar situations. They understand the sleepless nights, the consistent worries, the fears and trying to keep hope high in challenging times. CGC's goal is to provide consistent support to NICU families and educate the community on prematurity and high-risk pregnancy. Being a non-profit CGC accepts any amount of donations or volunteers to assist with packaging meals and cooking meals to deliver to families and food donations. With the support from donations and volunteers Carter G. Cares can continue to provide resources to families of the NICU.
