Carpeting By Mike, Inc is a Full Service Flooring Company in Somerset, WI Unlike some little girls, Typhannie Watson didn’t dream of becoming a teacher or princess when she was a kid- she wanted to go into flooring sales. Following in the footsteps of her father, Mike Faust, Typhannie is now the Owner of the family-owned Flooring company. Initially founded in 1973, Mike Faust shared his insights, knowledge, and passion, before his passing in April 2018, leaving his daughter to pursue her dream and take over the family business. “ I was always there helping my dad when he was doing installations, I would pick up scraps and vacuum after him. My pay back then was in ice cream cones,” she laughed. Located in Somerset, the company serves all the flooring needs of St. Croix Valley Area. A state of the art showroom was updated in 2019, where potential clients can actually see and feel what their flooring options are before they make their final decision. To make sure customers really know what they want and need, Carpeting by Mike offers a complimentary estimate and in home design service, to help figure out what the right option is for a client’s space. On top of that, a 10-year installation warranty. “We really are just a very customer and service focused company. We are old school in that we want to know who we’re working with, and have that handshake mentality before contracts and everything.” Carpeting By Mike is also very involved in the Somerset community. “We are very humbled to have made this our living and really appreciate the community, We try to be there for them since they’ve supported us for so long.” Will a third generation be taking over this flooring dynasty? Perhaps, “My daughter Isabella will hopefully becoming the third generation to take over the business when the day comes,” she said. Only time will tell.
