Overview

For over 20 years, Canoe North Adventures has offered canoe trips in Canada's Far North. Lin Ward and Al Pace built and now operate an outfitting centre at Norman Wells in the Sahtu Region of the NWT. Canoe North Adventures offers guided or self-guided canoe expeditions on the Natla, Keele, Redstone, Mountain, Snake, Bonnet Plume, Yukon, Anderson, Horton, Coppermine and Great Bear Rivers. Their trips are suitable for novice, intermediate and advanced paddlers. In 2010, Canoe North Adventures was chosen as NWTT Operator of the Year recognizing all-round business excellence and best-practices. In 2012, the Canadian Tourism Commission recognized Canoe North Adventures and specifically the Keele River trip as a member of the highly coveted Signature Experiences Collection, one of only 160 across Canada including attractions such as the Stratford Festival, Niagara Falls and the Calgary Stampede. There are only four Signature Experiences Collection members in the NWT. In October 2012, Canoe North Adventures was honoured to receive the Chairman’s Award of Merit from The Hills of Headwaters Tourism Association for Outstanding Business Achievement and community involvement in their hometown of Orangeville, Ontario.
