California State Games

Overview

California State Games is a multi-sport festival of Olympic style competition for California's amateur's athletes of all ages and abilities. As a nonprofit 501-c (3) grassroots program of the US Olympic Committee, our mission is to promote and nurture the health, education and competitive spirit of residents of California by managing a quality sports event that encourages participation and provides an Olympic experience. California is just one of 44 states that conduct a similar State Games. The Cal State Games athletes have the chance to qualify for the State Games of America, which is held every two years. The event is designed to encourage youth participation in athletics and community participation. The Games attract athletes from a variety of backgrounds, ethnicities, and skill levels, bringing out former and future Olympians as well as athletes for whom the Games are a real career highlight. Aside from the Cal State Games, which is held each summer, we also host the Winter Games that features sports such as ice hockey, figure skating and roller skating.
