Overview

BT Architecture was established in 1998 by M. Arch Berna Tanverdi. The company has vast experience in architectural and interior design within a variety of projects and scales. Since its foundation, BT Architecture has been awarded several prizes from architectural competitions and its projects have been published in many journals. The Ankara-based firm has more than 20 years of experience and lots of realized and conceptual projects all around Turkey. Cultural buildings, offices, residential, and hotels create the main typologies that the firm works on. Designing strong interior-exterior relations with detailed solutions from built-in furniture to landscape proposals are the main characteristics of the firm. BT Architecture leads the design and construction process collectively with engineers, interior architects, investors, and consultants to provide a full scope of architectural services. The company pursues the design process for each project within its urban context, architectural envelope as well as interior visions. . . . Berna Tanverdi graduated from TED Ankara College in 1988 and achieved B.Arch. degree in 1992 in METU Department of Architecture. During her graduate studies in the USA, the University of Miami, Department of Architecture, she participated in design studio programs in Rome and Bauhaus-Dessau. Berna Tanverdi also takes an active part in a variety of other fields of design, education, and theory with the belief that they all enrich the practice of architecture in many ways. She teaches Architectural Design Studio at Bilkent University and is a member of TAAPP - Turkish Association of Architects in Private Practice, Architects’ Association-1927, TED Alumni Association, METU Alumni Association, University of Miami Alumni Association.
