Overview
The Brown Space Engineering Team (BSE) is dedicated to changing the public perception of the space industry by demonstrating that space technology can be made accessible to non-professionals. We strive to inspire the next generation of rocket scientists and are on track to becoming Rhode Island's first space program by using low-cost micro-satellites with simple, reproducible missions. Our first satellite, a 1U CubeSat known as EquiSat, will be launched to the ISS in the spring of 2018. Its mission is to prove the accessibility of space by being visible from the ground and using amateur radio frequencies all for a low build cost of $5,000.
