Brookline High School 21st Century Fund
Education ManagementOverview
The Brookline High School 21st Century Fund was created to incubate new curricular programs that enhance the academic and future achievement of every BHS student. It serves as venture capital for innovation in public education and invests in courses, programs, forums and research that help faculty and administrators continue to deliver excellence in an evolving world. After a three-year testing and evaluation period, successful investments in new courses become permanently funded by the Town of Brookline. Since its inception, the Fund has invested $8 million to launch and sustain 14 programs, five of which have been fully integrated into the BHS curriculum: Teachers Mentoring Teachers; Good Citizen in a Good Society; BHS Tutorial; Engineering by Design, and Social Justice Leadership Program. Two more are slated for 2012-2013 integration: Arts Infusion Lab and the African-American Scholars Program.
