Overview

Over the years, issues surrounding the boy-child and his development have not been given enough attention to as required, thereby causing the areas essential for his growth to be treated with levity. This very reason necessitated the need for an organization where all activities are centred on boys in the society. The boy-child has subconsciously been positioned as a ‘danger’ the society now shields the female gender from but if only at the initial stage of development, he had also been sensitized and orientated about his gender, just like that of the girl-child, then, there would be a more balanced and functional society. For example, sexual education should not be reserved for the female gender exclusively, while the boy-child is left to figure out life, which are mostly through the wrong channels. Strategic actions towards the boy-child is our responsibility, failure to do this is equivalent to running in circles. It’s time we realize that we need functional men and women for a balanced society. It is therefore imperative to note that this organization is not created to be in competition against girl-child initiatives, but to bring a balance to an unbalanced scale, which for decades has been overweighed. This reoccurring imbalance necessitated the birth of the Boys Without Borders, a boy-child organization responsible for building passionate and committed members as volunteers, thereby giving their time and services, primarily in helping boys in the society.
