The non-profit builds upon monumental climate change policies and initiatives of his Hawaii-based Blue Planet Foundation. Established in 2008, the Foundation successfully passed the nation’s first 100% renewable energy law, requiring the State of Hawaii to commit to 100% clean energy by 2045. It also designed and implemented successful business models to guide Hawaii’s utility in transitioning to 100% renewable energy and continues to drive key policies shaping the State’s clean energy future. Having inspired other states and regions to take similar actions, Blue Planet Alliance was established to expand the Foundation’s efforts beyond Hawaii. Its mission is to regenerate the environment and become 100% sustainable by 2045.
