BLUE-GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE (BGI) BGI is a pioneering firm transforming urban development and stormwater management. We aim to create sustainable urban spaces using nature-aligned solutions. Central to our work is the patented Tree Nurturing System (TNS), designed for effective stormwater management and urban greenery enhancement. Background: The impact of conventional drainage on the natural water cycle is extreme. Traditional drainage systems, while efficient, have significant drawbacks, such as mobilising pollutants and contaminants, leading to environmental problems like soil degradation, water pollution, and loss of biodiversity. BGI emphasises the need for a paradigm shift in urban stormwater management. Tree Nurturing System™: TNS uses an area's sponge-like traits to manage rainwater, benefiting vegetation and groundwater. Our decentralised drainage approach is cost-effective, addressing environmental issues like soil degradation and water pollution, and promotes cooler, active streets. We're keen on projects that incorporate TNS and other innovations. Climate Adaptation: Implemented in urban areas, BGI offers sustainability benefits, countering climate change effects. It aids in flood reduction, soil moisture consistency, temperature moderation, and biodiversity enhancement. Incorporating the Envirokerb™ Stormwater Pollution Prevention Inlet: The ESPPI, positioned on a concrete water ramp, directs stormwater, protecting pavements and preventing waterway pollution. It's made of concrete infused with 10% recycled plastic, replacing mined aggregate. The tray aggregate is fully recycled from soil waste and plastics. Maintenance is easy, with a removable tray from the concrete body for simple cleaning. Modular Variants: BGI provides four TNS modular variants, with proprietary tanks, cells, and drainage systems.
