Overview

Bishwo Shahitto Kendro - BSK (World Literature Center) is a civil organization aiming at building enlightened, enriched and committed citizens among the future generation of Bangladesh through various educational and cultural programmes since its establishment in 1978. Renowned educationist and social activist Professor Abdullah Abu Sayeed envisioned this great initiative of enlightenment. One of the prime tasks, the BSK has assumed voluntarily, is to create a generation under the guiding principles of the liberation war to liberate the people from hunger, poverty, superstitions, injustices and all other social maladies that may stand on their way of living. BSK believes that people with enlightenment and strong commitment can build a viable nation and books are the main source of knowledge and means to attain enlightenment. Vision : Bishwo Shahitto Kendro envisions a country which will be enriched in all aspects of life; a country where people, irrespective of gender, colour, religion, caste, creed and class, can enjoy their lives with freedom, dignity and rights through flourishing their full human potentials. Mission: The mission of Bishwo Shahitto Kendro is to create an informed, enriched, secular and committed generation of the future Bangladesh. Objective : The principal objective of Bishwo Shahitto Kendro is to create a favorable environment throughout the country for nurturing enlightened individuals, organizing them into a national force and catalyzing enlightenment in the collective persona of the citizens of Bangladesh.
