Common Knowledge Trust is a New Zealand registered Charitable Trust since 1996. We house Birthing Better Childbirth Preparation skills that are available in 5 online courses. Birthing Better skills were developed by fathers and mothers in the US during the early 1970s. Families wanted skills that were practical, learned in the privacy of one's own home and would work in every birth. What does 'work' mean? Every family wants a safe birth for mother and baby. Every family wants to have a positive birth. While you never know what your birth will be like ('something that will happen'), we're all trying to plan our births via our Birth Plans ('an event') but giving birth is always about 'doing the ACTIVITY of birthing' our babies. Birthing Better families developed a comprehensive set of skills that can be learned in the privacy of one's own home: 1) That prepares the pregnant body to become a birthing body 2) Birth and birth-coaching skills for all births Birthing Better families wanted to reduce or prevent some issues from becoming problems and women wanted to cope, manage, deal with, work through, handle, stay on top of and in control through the activity of birthing our babies. Fathers wanted skills to help their birthing partner cope and manage!
