Founded in 2014, BioClub is the largest next-generation innovation platform for the medical and healthcare industry in China, aiming to establish an ecosystem that accelerates the translation of innovative ideas and research outcomes into real-life medical services and products. BioClub has set up branches together with collaborative agencies and local governments in almost all mega-cities in China such as Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai and Shenzhen. In many other cities across the country, BioClub has built up partnerships with industrial parks and incubators to provide services and coverage. Notably, BioClub is also heading towards globalisation. So far BioClub has recruited overseas partners, established incubation bases in the US (San Francisco Bay Area) and Australia (Melbourne), as well as initiated overseas investment funds. In August 2016, BioClub launched its overseas operation, BioClub Australia Pty Ltd, in Melbourne, Australia, one of the world-leading medical research and commercialization hubs to expand its global footprint. BioClub Australia aims to source, invest and incubate healthtech startups in Australia and the US, and leverage its network and resources to help them expand into the Chinese market. The branch has two other founding partners, ASIPIC Group and GoldSun, that will bring extensive knowledge, skills and networks in business, investment, legal, and government level relations to bridge the gap between research and commercialisation as well as accelerate the growth of early-stage healthtech startups. Meanwhile, a new overseas venture fund, proposed to raise AUD$200 Million (AUD$20 Million in the first round of capital raising) has also been initiated by BioClub Australia to focus on seed investments in cutting-edge medical technology and healthcare products, services and companies.
