Taken from the Italian word capriccio, Caprices stays true to its name. Carlo Scalzo, Caprices founder, is proudly featuring products that he is passionate about and that customers were waiting for. Very early on, it became clear that he had great passion and talent for the business. In 1988, at the age of 20, he was introduced to the jewelery industry and started his career working as a salesman for a local distributor in Italy. This led him to open his own retail store in Italy in 1991. “We are at the spearhead of the jewelry and watches trends in Italy, so that we are the trend setters in the Quebec marketplace,” says Carlo. One of Carlo’s priorities is to attend global trade shows and discover new trends before they make it to the marketplace. “Our mission was to create a concept that filled a gap in the market – a retail environment that’s fresh, new and that specifically satisfies desire for unique Italian luxury items,” Carlo says. An inspiring range of fresh and smart Italian luxury brands is what best characterizes Caprices conquest in such a competitive industry. “It’s an evolution. Ultimately our goal is establishing the lead role in this segment which we call fashion luxury,” says Carlo.
