Overview

Since 2002, Bernard Chauveau’s publishing house develops an editorial activity that gravitates around international contemporary creation. It proposes publications dedicated to fine arts and contemporary decorative arts, and it tackles themes such as architecture, visual arts, design, photography and fashion. Bernard Chauveau also develops a gallery activity oriented towards the limited edition of etchings, multiples, original creations and jewellery with contemporary international artists and designers whether young or well-established. Each art work Galerie 8 + 4 publishes is the result of an encounter, a dialogue and a long thinking process, thus paving the way for new correlations to be made between different practices and mediums. In particular, some of the artists who were published the past few years are: Pierrette Bloch, Antoine Catala, Philippe Favier, Fabrice Hyber, Alex Katz, Claude Lévêque, Vera Molnar, Roman Opalka, Giuseppe Penone, Françoise Pétrovitch, Anne et Patrick Poirier, Claire Trotignon, Bernar Venet, Tomas Vu, Lawrence Weiner… And the designers : Atelier BL 119, François Azambourg, Pierre Charpin, Odile Decq, David Dubois, Régis Mayot, Nestor Perkal, Cédric Ragot… In 2014, Bernard Chauveau also set up an Art Advisor activity. Strengthened by a network of over a hundred artists, creators and art workshops whose talents and skills intersect, Bernard Chauveau offers a business-oriented tailor-made activity, that puts Art at the center of its concerns in order to prepare and accompany them by giving the encounter with an Artist a prime position.
