Overview

BearPaws Environmental Consulting was established in August 2012 by Barrett & Christina Stejskal. Together, they have over 25 years of experience in the environmental field. As president of BearPaws Environmental Consulting, Barrett is responsible for all management duties of the firm & project coordination, while Christina is responsible for all financial duties of the firm. Besides the corporate responsibilities, also as consultants and ecologists, Barrett & Christina are both responsible for the coordination of environmental permitting, conducting wildlife surveys, wetland delineations, & other environmental reports. The Stejskal’s have managed projects, conducted fieldwork, & produced reports and applications for land use planning and development. These projects include due diligence assessments for land acquisition purposes, assistance with environmental land planning, coordination on permitting and mitigation design for wetlands and wildlife, & compliance monitoring of projects both during and after construction. Barrett & Christina have both been qualified as experts in wetland and wildlife ecology, & environmental land use, in Lee County, Florida. Barrett has received his certification as an Authorized Gopher Tortoise Agent. While working at his previous position for another consulting firm, he also received certification in geographic information systems (GIS) from Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) in ARC GIS I & II. Christina’s previous experience also includes working with Lee County in their Environmental Sciences Division, as an intern while attending Florida Gulf Coast University. In addition, she has received certification from the Richard Chinn U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Wetland Delineation and Management Training Program. Barrett & Christina have both received additional training on gopher tortoise natural history, relocation, & management through a program offered by the Ashton Biodiversity Institute.
