Overview

Bareec Project for Positive Thinking and Wellbeing is the educational arm of Alnowair - a nonprofit initiative driven to spread a positive attitude in Kuwait. Founded in July 2016, officially inaugurated on 21/2/2017, Bareec implements a set of short, interactive and creative activities in classrooms that help instill a positive attitude in the students. The program takes inspiration from scientific research and work done in the field of positive psychology from around the world, and trains teachers on how to implement the program in their respective schools. Bareec was initially implemented in 3 schools, although after an encouraging impact upon students and teachers alike, later expanded to 10 more schools. The program has appealed greatly to school principals and its impact has also been noticed by parents. By the beginning of 2018-19 academic year, Bareec is being implemented in 36 schools across Kuwait. Following the initial success of Bareec, the project was presented to the Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development. After receiving positive reviews from the department, Bareec is now approved to be under the umbrella of the 5-year development plan in collaboration with the Ministry of Education. In April 2018, Bareec became part of the New Kuwait 2035 Project, which is sponsored by the Supreme Council for Planning and Development in the State of Kuwait.
