Overview

The AwaketheWorld alternative and counter narrative project arises from the idea that each and every individual in our world, in our countries, in our cities, in our communities, need to wake up to the reality that violent extremism is posing to our democratic societies. With the aim to help unite the silent majority against extremism by emphasizing solidarity, common causes and shared values. The community of interest and movements for positive change through community outreach, education and mass mobilization, mostly in schools and universities. Its final objective would be to encourage individuals to become part of the project by making a personal contribution. Acting as a multicultural and open group, initiatives that are based on awakening tolerance and respect in each individual who passes it on to his or her community.
