Auto Parts Limited is an authorized dealer for Nissan vehicles in Ghana and incorporated and commenced business in the automobile industry in September 1959. Established in 1941 in the Gold Coast now called Ghana, Auto Parts started of dealing in vehicle. In 1950 the company set up engineering workshops in the country which was later expanded to include an assembly plant for Nissan vehicles for the Ghanaian market. This stride made the company one of the pioneers in the automobile industry in Ghana. In 1965, Auto Parts Limited won the dealership of Nissan vehicles in Ghana. This marked the beginning of a partnership between Auto Parts Limited and Nissan Motors Company Limited that has set new standards in the auto vehicles sales and services in Ghana. Auto Parts Limited has set a new standard in the automobile industry in terms of strength, durability, reliability and resilience. Later on, both parties realized that customers would be better served if Auto Parts Limited focussed on actual sales and service of fully assembled vehicles from Nissan plants across the world. Thus, the operations of the assembly plant were deferred and replaced by importation of fully assembled Nissan vehicles. As a result of prudent management and strong after sales service support, Auto Parts Limited won the dealership of Volkswagen in Ghana and commenced operations in 2005 under the official name, Universal Motors. In 2009, Universal Motors also obtained the sole distributorship for the prestigious Porsche brand in Ghana. In February 2011, the company launched Porsche Center Accra, a facility fully compliant with Porsches high international corporate standards. Currently, Auto Parts offers employment to over 150 Ghanaians and expatriates including engineers, technicians, administrators, sales and marketing professionals and accountants. As a company APL combines the force of professionals and modern equipment to achieve best result for its customers and shareholders at large.
