Overview

Since its launch by former Australian Deputy Prime Minister the Hon. Mark Vaile in 2012, ABGO has helped to bring together Australian companies engaged in business activities in Oman and connect them with their Omani counterparts. ABGO has a wide membership base comprised of prominent Australian and Omani business people, diplomats and professionals. ABGO also has a growing cohort of young Omani professionals that are alumni of Australian universities. ABGO works closely with the Australian Embassy in Saudi Arabia, AUSTRADE, the various Australian state trade offices in the GCC and visiting Australian officials and trade delegations. Australia's non-resident ambassador to Oman serves as ABGO's patron. ABGO is led by a group of 12 Australian and Omani executive committee members, including Australia's honorary consul to Oman.
