Overview
ATLAS COMPANY PROFILE – “THE FEDEX OF THE BOX BUSINESS” Severn, Maryland: Founded in 1968, Atlas Container Corporation is one of the largest and fastest-growing independent manufacturers of corrugated boxing and packaging in the mid-Atlantic. Atlas distinguishes itself on four primary levels: size, equipment, design and capability and service. Each component contributes to the successful makeup of Atlas. For pictures and articles written about our company, please see our website: AtlasContainer.com. Company Size The Severn, Maryland manufacturing plant occupies 200,000 square-feet on 25 acres. Over the years, the company has steadily increased in size with 200 full-time, non-union employees. With its own trucking fleet, Atlas delivers orders to more than 2,000 customers throughout Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Washington, D.C. and West Virginia. Company Equipment & Design Capability With its state-of-the-art equipment, Atlas makes available a wide range of corrugated packaging products including corrugated boxes, die-cut boxes, corrugated folders, tubes and partitions. The company offers a team of in-house designers who cater to every need, large or small. Packaging samples are created and developed within the Design Department and are available upon request. Company Service Atlas offers modern technology to service its customers’ requirements. Our fully integrated computer software allows process, manufacture and custom orders from normal to short lead-times. The average lead time for orders has decreased from eight-working days to three. Almost 40 percent of Atlas orders are delivered today, tomorrow or the next day. Our on-time delivery rate is 99 percent (compared to the industry average of 75 percent.) Many customer orders are purchased and delivered on the same day - and is why Atlas calls itself the “FedEx of the box business."
