Aspiration Creation Elevation CIC (ACE) was set-up in April 2013 by three young music-mentoring professionals. ACE, initially, formed the organisation to continue the delivery of music mentoring activities to youths in Bristol’s disadvantaged communities, while the effects of government cuts were taking place. Astonishingly, ACE quickly became an enterprise with a bigger vision.ACE, now, look beyond the surface of what today’s disadvantaged youths face, realising that there is a systematic cycle to which these young people fall into, to no fault of their own. This is a cycle of inequality, low aspirations & negativity, which ultimately have damaging effects on families, communities & even societies. To tackle these problems; we use creative arts activities as a vehicle to mentor, educate & inspire young people to become positive members of their community. Our organisation feels this type of engagement among society’s disadvantaged young people can provide the needed inspiration, empowerment & positivity to implement cohesion & growth within their communities. We understand that overturning such a deep-rooted problem will take time, minds & resources beyond our own; but even the smallest positive action can grow to inspire real change.
