Aspen Youth Center

Overview

Aspen Youth Center opened its doors on October 31, 1991 following a three-year campaign where $1.4 million was raised by engaged community members. In April of 2003, we relocated our operations to a new facility within the Aspen Recreation Center on Maroon Creek Road, across from the Aspen School District campus. Over years later, Aspen Youth Center continues to provide after school and all day summer programs to youth in grades 4-12, for free. Our primary goal is to keep kids safe and supported during their out-of-school hours, and it achieves this through daily, staff-led clubs and activities. We continue to be supported by grants and contributions from foundations, businesses and individuals in the community. In 2014 we had over 1400 youth attend Aspen Youth Center with over 13,000 visits. We continue to grow and look forward to the next 30 years. Aspen Youth Center is a privately operated and funded 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a safe and supportive place for youth the connect, learn and grow. We are the only free after-school and summer program in the Roaring Fork Valley and serve the areas from Aspen to Rifle, spanning Pitkin, Eagle and Garfield counties.
