Overview

Aryavarta Space Organization (ASO) is a not-for-profit Space Research Organization dedicated to making an impact to Space Technology Research and Policy across the world. It is officially registered as a Non Government Organization (NGO) in India and as a Civil Society Organization (CSO) at the United Nations Economic and Social Council, and promotes contemporary research in space technologies, science and policy. In 2014, the organization registered a sub-entity called 'Green Layers International' on the United Nations Sustainable Development Knowledge Platform, managed by the Department of Economic and Social Affairs at United Nations, to promote green and sustainable development in cities, and focus on research in the emerging area of Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Policy. ASO is also a member of the Space Planning Commission at the International Space Agency (Hq.: Washington DC, USA), and has entered into international space sector collaboration with the Central American Association of Space and Aeronautics (known as the ACAE - Asociacion Centroamericana De Aeronutica y Del Espacio). Its has also partnered with the Center for Environmental Planning and Technology (CEPT University), Nirma University and Amity University to conduct research and development in emerging areas, such as Space Science & Technology, Space Policy & Law, Life Sciences (in space) and Climate Change, and has hosted the 'International Space Conference 2014 and 2015 in recent years. It has also established a knowledge partnership with Nanoland, Inc., which a climate change research organization based in USA.
