Art is my Career® (AIMC) C.I.C creates resources for teachers, parents and students supporting arts and culture education and development to help plug the education, knowledge and skills gap created by arts education funding cuts. The programme also aims to bridge the skill, knowledge and resource gap between education and industry while also instilling pride in the creative community by showcasing the diverse creative talent. Our primary target audience is young people aged between 13 – 18 who are considering their exam options and career choices, however resources are available to anyone with an interest in the creative industry. We also work with secondary schools, and FE & HE institutes. Through the programme, we directly address key issues identified by PEC, in particular ‘Careers and Technical Education Reforms’. We also support teachers in their efforts to link curriculum learning to careers (Gatsby Benchmark 4). AIMC focuses on providing practical, hands-on advice and engaging interactive course materials (complete with lesson plans), highlighting the wealth of opportunities in the sector.
