Overview

Apple Film is a prominent Polish production company, renowned for its features, documentaries and drama series, as well as for its successful collaborations with international partners. The company was founded almost thirty years ago by the CEO, Dariusz Jablonski, producer, director and scriptwriter, as one of the very first independent Polish production companies. He was joined a few years later by Violetta Kaminska; producer and Head of Production, who is also the Managing Director of ScripTeast, and by Izabela Wojcik; producer, Head of Development, and Managing Director of the Polish Film Academy. This team works closely together on every project, jointly deciding on their selection, the execution of the productions, as well as the distribution plans and foreign sales. Thus far, Apple Film Production has produced and co--produced more than 30 features, and the same number of full-length documentaries and drama series, gaining over 200 international and national awards. It has cooperated with the many of the top producers and broadcasters from all over Europe; from Sweden to Israel and from UK to Russia, as well as with the US and Canada. Currently, the company is producing “The Pleasure Principle”, an international drama series which is the co--production between Poland, Ukraine and the Czech Rep. The latest films completed by Apple Film are two films directed by Alexey German Jr.: The Russian--Polish--Serbian co--production “Dovlatov” (Silver Bear Award for Outstanding Artistic Contribution at Berlinale 2018) and the Russian--Polish title “Under Electric Clouds” (Silver Bear Award for Outstanding Artistic Contribution Berlinale 2016). The producers were also involved in the Ukrainian--Polish--Macedonian film, “When The Trees Fall”, the debut feature film by Marysia Nikitiuk (Berlinale Panorama 2018). In high--end drama credits, Apple Film has co-produced two series sold worldwide by BBCW; “The Passing Bells” and “Spies in Warsaw” for BBC 1 and Polish TVP 1.
