Overview

Apollo organizes monthly meetings to facilitate our scientifically themed events. Each meeting is focused on a specific and current theme relevant to translational medicine. Our meetings are case study-focused meetings prepared and presented by two students. Meetings can also be expert-led. By taking a leading role in elaborating cases studies the students are also trained in achieving an active role within the group. By preparing specific questions on those case studies, everyone within the group will be trained to think critically. Apollo members will be educated in all aspects of translational medicine including regulatory roles, drug development, health insurance systems, pharmaceutical business management and other health care-related aspects. We argue that in translational medicine critical thinking implies being able to solve complex problems by out of the box thinking. Apollo is an international collaborative project between the EUREKA institute and its partner universities with the aim of supporting students to develop the knowledge, skills, and experience that will support a career in the field of translational medicine. At the moment there is an Apollo Chapter in Utrecht, the Netherlands and Toronto, Canada.
