Overview

Alpha Visible Community Development (AVCD) history goes way back in 1992 when guidance and cancelling were best delivered through entertainment, dances and dramas. Back then this organization was known as ALPHA DANCING GROUP (ADG) and operated regionally as a Community Based Organization (CBO). Initially ADG was founded to educate and promote awareness over social-economic matters to the local communities. Through traditional dances, poems, drama, songs and acrobatics, ADG got deployed during inaugurations, national torch runs and several national events. In the early 2000’s ADG took a different direction and started taking on social-economic development projects where donors such as TACAIDS, Foundation for Civil Society and HIMA disbursed more than 360 million Tzs on Malaria, environment protection and good governance projects that ADG implemented between year 2000 and 2010. Currently ADG has undergone major transformation whereby the organization have changed from CBO to fully registered NGO to operate national-wide and change of the name to Alpha Visible Community Development (AVCD). Apart from increasing the operating range, the new AVCD is now a fully programmatic organization with capable and well experienced team. We are proud that until today we have reached and impacted more than 200,000 people, worked with more than 20 districts and secured more than 678 million Tzs from donors across the global.
