Al Barej General Trading Group was founded in 1980 in Libya under the vision and direction of Mohammed Zarouk Rajab. In 1999, Jamal Rajab, the current Director General, continued this situation. Their entrepreneurial spirit and long-term vision of the consumer goods industry have laid the foundation for market leadership in the fruit, vegetable, meat and poultry sectors. Since its inception more than three decades ago, Al Barej General Trading has grown to occupy a prominent position in the fresh fruit, vegetable, meat and poultry industry in Libya. Al Barej's unwavering commitment to building lasting relationships with suppliers and customers is the reason why we enjoy a global reputation for integrity and trust with a network of more than 600 suppliers and customers. Today, the Al Barej community is made up of more than 1,000 employees who share a passion for service and quality. Our operations in our multiple outlets, refrigerated warehouses, meat processing plant and refrigeration fleet are all HACCP certified and supported by state-of-the-art equipment and technology. In fact, more than 100,000 kilos of fresh produce are distributed every day in our cold stores and production facilities!
