“Akshara” from the Sanskrit signifies “Imperishable” and “Inexhaustible” and thus the name chosen for this institution of lifelong learning. The school mission is to encourage the natural curiosity of young minds and inculcate a lifelong habit of “continuous learning” in every child. Learning, of course, is not to be restricted to the classrooms, but continues outside: on the play field, in gardens and just about everywhere. Education at Akshara is based on 3 I’s: International Vision: Our goal is to create future global citizens with broad-based knowledge of the world we live in and capabilities for success in an international environment. Indian Heritage: The rich Indian tradition and cultural values are instilled in the students through the school environment, activities and moral teaching. Individual Development: The focus is on holistic development of each child through a variety of co-curricular and extra curricular activities in addition to the academic program; and for recognition of individual differences.
