Overview

Air Vanuatu began operations in 1987 with our first flight from Sydney to Port Vila with a leased 727-200 aircraft. Our humble beginnings started with a once a week flight to Sydney, followed by a weekly flight from Brisbane in 1988. Melbourne and Auckland followed in 1989 using leased aircraft from Qantas. Today we operate to Australia, New Zealand and New Caledonia with plans to expand in the region. Fleet information Air Vanuatu operates the Next Generation Boeing 737-800 on international routes to Australia and New Zealand and our brand new ATR-72 to New Caledonia. Our domestic fleet includes the ATR-72 and three new Y-12s, one Twin Otter and one Islander aircraft. Certification & Affiliation Air Vanuatu is an IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) member, having achieved certification in 2009 and 2011. We operate code-share flights with our partners Air Pacific, Qantas, Solomon Airlines and Air New Zealand and are a Qantas Frequent Flyer Partner. Extensive Domestic Network Air Vanuatu flies to 29 destinations throughout Vanuatu, covering every Province in the country.
