The Air & Space Forces Association (AFA) is an independent, nonprofit, civilian education organization. Our mission is to promote dominant U.S. Air and Space Forces as the foundation of a strong National Defense; to honor and support our Airmen, Space Force Professionals, and their Families; and to remember and respect our enduring Heritage. To accomplish this, we: • EDUCATE the public on the critical need for unrivaled aerospace power and a technically superior workforce to ensure national security • ADVOCATE for aerospace power, and promote aerospace and STEM education and professional development • SUPPORT readiness for the Total Air and Space Forces, including Active Duty, National Guard, Reserve, civilians, families and members of the Civil Air Patrol AFA is home to the Mitchell Institute for Aerospace Studies, the nation's only thinktank dedicated to advancing U.S. air and space power; publisher of Air Force Magazine and AirForceMag.com, the premier news and information source covering the Air Force and Space Force; and the producer of national the Air and Space Forces' preeminent professional development conferences, the annual Air, Space & Cyber Conference and Air Warfare Symposium. AFA advances aerospace education through a variety of programs, including CyberPatriot, a global cyber education program; StellarXplorers, an emerging space-based education program; and a variety of awards, scholarships, and grant programs for Air Force active duty, Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve members, their families, and science, technology, engineering and math educators at the elementary and secondary school level.
